Ken Madeleine

Ken Madeleine started flying in 1977 and has been a flight instructor since 1979. He has accumulated almost 6,000 flight hours. He is a retired public school teacher, having spent the last 23 of those years as an elementary school principal. As a life-long educator, he loves to teach, so teaching people to fly is a natural part of that passion. His favorite part of flying is seeing a student grasp a concept he taught, like having that person solo after successfully learning to take off and land. Now that he is retired, he is available throughout the entire week, although his flight instruction on the weekends is done in the mornings. .

He can be contacted via e-mail at: dmadeleine5822[at]wowway.com .

Joe Taylor

Joe Taylor began his flying in 1972 in a military aero club while serving in the Air Force. He received his instrument rating in 1975 and commercial license in 1976. He followed with his multi-engine rating and instructors licenses in 1979, 1980 and 1982 respectively. To date he has flown over 3600 hours.
His love for teaching came from realization that the aviation community has so much knowledge that it is impossible to “know it all”. There is always room to learn more. Teaching in aviation offers the ability to continue learning about aviation but also learn about teaching. It always offers a challenge.
Joe is now retired after working 42 years in engineering, manufacturing and management. He and his wife, Mary, share their time with 3 grandchildren.

He can contacted via e-mail at: josephltaylor[at]prodigy.net.

Don Weaver

Don has been flying since high school; he soloed on his 16th birthday in 1975.  Don has been flight instructing since 1991 and has over 8,500 hours flying and teaching. He started flying aerobatics in 1999.Don spends most of his time managing for OptAir, part of the AirShares Elite family of Cirrus SR22 Shared Ownership management companies (www.optair.com).

Don's true love is tailwheel flying and aerobatics. He is a talented and dedicated aerobatics instructor, competing and teaching in our Pitts S2-B, "Sleazy." Don truly gets a kick out of sharing his enthusiasm for both the science and art of flying well, and has found aerobatics to be an underutilized tool in the business of growing competent, proficient and confident pilots.
